Over the past 30 years, Joe has held senior positions in the lab industry in both Canada and the United States. As one of Accumen’s original employees, over the last 10 years Joe has been managing a number of Accumen’s larger Clients and now oversees the Lab Operations of Accumen for the entire country. As a result of Joe’s in-depth understanding of all facets of the lab industry, this experience has contributed to Accumen being able to offer a multifaceted approach to Lab Excellence including Operations, Supply Chain, Business Development, Patient Blood Management, and IT. Joe’s experience has allowed him to be a keynote speaker at the Dark Report’s Executive War College. Joe graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario and also obtained his CPA with Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Kelly Lucas, MHA

Client Account Lead

Kelly is a Client Account Lead responsible for working with clients to identify laboratories to identify opportunities that optimize operations and deliver savings against commitments. She brings over 30 years of experience in clinical laboratory operations with multi-facility healthcare organizations. She has a solid understanding of the challenges faced by healthcare clinicians and administrators to deliver high quality patient care while simultaneously meeting regulatory and business demands. Kelly strives to provide innovative and meaningful information to our clients that drive optimization of operational efficiencies and bring value to the client. She has a proven track record of driving consensus among diverse stakeholders, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships. She has developed strategies for core lab optimization, consolidation/centralization, and supply chain improvements. Kelly earned her BS degree in Medical Technology from Mississippi State University, and her Master’s degree in Management with Healthcare Concentration from Kaplan University.

Lisa Norcia

Client Account Lead

Lisa has over 30 years of clinical laboratory and diagnostic experience. She has expertise in large health system standardization, C-suite relationships, workflow efficiency, and customer focused solutions.​ Lisa has a broad knowledge of healthcare and the challenges in the ever-changing landscape of healthcare reform. She has a proven record of developing solutions that improve outcomes and drive quality. Lisa has managed the executive and laboratory relationships for some of the largest health systems in the Southeast and Midwest, including ACL Laboratories, Baylor Healthcare, Ochsner Health System, Mayo Foundation, and SSM Health.​ Lisa has a BS degree in Medical Technology from the University of Tennessee and board certification from ASCP. She has been a member of ACHE and has participated in regional and national forums.

Derrick Johnson

Client Account Lead

Derrick Johnson is a Client Account Lead and drives process and business excellence initiatives across multiple client accounts.​ Derrick is an evidence-based Performance Excellence leader with over 20 years of leadership experience and over a decade of hands-on business transformation execution including strategy development, statistical analysis, and health care supply and distribution management. He has a deep understanding of health care process optimization, labor and productivity alignment, and performance improvement cultural development. Additionally, he is lauded as an influencer who elicits buy-in and change management adoption.​ Derrick holds a BS Degree in Business Management and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

David Alicandri

Client Account Lead

David Alicandri is an Operations Client Lead with primary responsibility over the West US Region.​ David has over 20 years of leading process improvement teams through improvement cycles to achieve measurable results in Quality, Service, and Productivity. David has been focused on health operations improvement for the last 13 years in the US, Canada and Europe.​ He is a results-oriented healthcare leader and change agent, driving complex, large-scale projects and business improvements from concept to completion through multiple healthcare departments. Additionally, he is known for building, developing, and leading highly effective teams and organizations.​ David holds a BS Degree in Management Engineering.

Jared Stanger, MHA

Client Account Lead

Jared Stanger, MHA, LSSBB, is Client Account Lead at Accumen. Jared leads and manages process improvement projects to deliver measurable operational results and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the laboratory in Quality, Service, and overall Productivity.​ Jared is a proven change excellence leader with the necessary skills to coach individuals and teams to push themselves to the next level of care and service. He has a passion for healthcare improvement through eliminating waste, reducing risk, and simplifying complex healthcare delivery. Jared collaborates with the client’s subject matter experts to develop new methods, tools, and processes that align with the client initiatives. ​Jared earned his BS in Health Care Administration from Brigham Young University-Idaho, and his Master of Health Administration from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA.

Susan Dougherty, MBA

Client Account Lead

Susan Dougherty, Client Account Lead at Accumen, has more than 20 years of executive- and senior-level laboratory management experience in hospital and commercial settings. In her current role, Susan is contributing her expertise to client engagements to ensure measurable outcomes, exceptional service delivery, and ongoing client satisfaction. Susan brings expertise to Accumen through her professional experience including vice president and general management positions in hospitals, health systems, national and regional laboratories, and joint ventures. Organizations under her leadership saw significant revenue and volume growth as well as impressive gains in cost, operational efficiency, and process improvement. ​Susan received her MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and has been a clinical laboratory science lecturer as well as a mentor for health care administration students.
