Accumen Experts Slated to Present at Annual Infusion Nurses Society Annual Meeting
Patient Blood Management Experts Address Transfusion as Key Patient Safety Issue
Accumen experts Joseph Thomas, BSN, RN, National Director of Clinical Optimization and Shylah Quast, BSN, RN, Regional Director of Patient Blood Management will serve as faculty for the Infusion Nurses Society Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Cleveland, Ohio from May 19-22, 2018. This year’s theme is “Learn. Discover. Share.” On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. ET, Thomas will present “Transfusion Confusion” and Quast will follow at 11:30 by presenting “Best Infusion Practices for the Administration of Blood and Blood Products.” Four full days of educational opportunities are planned for INS 2018 and will include case studies, track sessions, roundtable discussions, peer presentations and hands-on education.
Mr. Thomas oversees Patient Blood Management Program (PBM) implementation for clients nationwide and also owns a critical role in product and business development, sales strategy, and overall vision for the PBM product line at Accumen. He has dedicated his career over the past 14 years to implementing world-class PBM programs, saving hundreds of millions of healthcare dollars and making patients safer throughout the country.
Ms. Quast provides both a clinical background along with extensive experience implementing patient blood management programs. She has more than a decade of clinical and hospital experience as a Registered Nurse at the Cleveland Clinic, City of Hope as well as Johns Hopkins Hospital.
